Adult Hockey League - Week 1

Hello CCSA Players & Captains,

As our adult rec leagues continue to grow, CCSA is implementing several structural updates to improve organization, competitive balance, and overall league experience.

These updates clarify how league payments, rosters, and part-time participation will be handled moving forward.

💳 Payment Structure

  • Teams compete as a single league entity

  • Players register and pay CCSA directly or pay the team captain.

  • Eligibility is enforced at the team level, not the individual level. Therefore, team balance must be paid, before the team is eligible to play their game.

A player is only eligible to participate if they are:

  • Registered with CCSA

  • Assigned to an approved roster

  • Financially current

🧾 Rosters & League Authority

  • All official rosters are owned and approved by CCSA

  • Captains manage team communication and bench operations

  • Captains do not have final authority over eligibility

Additional roster rules:

  • Rosters lock after Week 4

  • Only rostered, approved players may participate

  • CCSA reserves the right to adjust rosters to maintain fairness, safety, and competitive balance

🏒 Part-Time Roster Players (NEW STRUCTURE)

CCSA will no longer allow per-game, unrostered drop-in players during league games.

Players who cannot commit to a full season may register as Part-Time Roster Players.

Part-Time Player Details:

  • Assigned to one team

  • Limited to a set number of games

  • Charged a higher per-game rate than full-season players

  • Count against the team’s roster limit

  • Not playoff-eligible

Pricing Example:

  • Full Season (20 games): $450

  • Part-Time (up to 5 games): $150

This structure eliminates weekly confusion and protects roster integrity.

🏆 Playoff Eligibility

  • Only full-season rostered players are playoff-eligible

  • Part-time players are not playoff-eligible

  • A part-time player may become playoff-eligible only by:

    • Converting to full-season status

    • Paying the full season fee

    • Doing so before roster lock

    • Meeting minimum participation requirements

    • Receiving league approval

🚫 Drop-In Players

Unrostered, pay-per-game drop-in players are no longer permitted during league play.

This change improves:

  • Team chemistry

  • Competitive balance

  • Game-night clarity

  • League operations

Players seeking flexibility are encouraged to register as part-time roster players or participate in non-league sessions.
